Associated Student Body (ASB)
ASB is an acronym for Associated Student Body--a group of students that is selected and elected to represent the entire student body of Baldwin Park High School. This is the student government of BPHS. Throughout the years, BPHS has been blessed with creative, dedicated, and responsible ASB officers.
ASB represents the interests and goals of all Baldwin Park High School students. Students who choose to run for an ASB office or an appointed position do so because they recognize that having a positive, engaging atmosphere during the school day where students feel wanted, accepted, and connected is critical to every student's success. To that end, the officers and appointed members of the ASB class focus on providing engaging activities that ensure a well-rounded high school experience.
Students in ASB plan, organize, and participate in such activities as formal and informal dances, Homecoming, Spirit Week, rallies, community awareness projects, cultural events, and Student and Staff Recognition throughout the year.
The bottom line is that each member of class council and ASB are similar in one way: each member is a leader who wants walking through BPHS gates to be a joyous moment and for Baldwin Park High School to be a place where students are excited to see what the day brings.
What does it take to be in ASB?
ASB members must be leaders. The qualities of a good leader include honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, reliability, willingness to work hard, humility, respect for both adults and fellow students, and school pride. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA, be in good academic standing, and maintain high academic and personal standards, both on and off campus. Students in ASB are the leaders and decision makers for our school. Being in Student Government requires total involvement in academics as well as being able to manage your time and responsibilities. Furthermore, the officers and appointed members of the ASB class focus on providing engaging activities that ensure a well-rounded high school experience for all students.
